Jeanie Marie Buss was born in America. She is the President and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is the daughter of a California born and raised in a wealthy family. Their father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the owner of the Lakers as well as other sports companies. In 1972, her parents broke up in divorce and she was left feeling emotionally left out. She joined her family's business at the age of 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She was president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming the Vice President of the Lakers. Buss her father passed away in 2013 as did the Lakers were passed down by her as well as five of her siblings through a trust. Each sibling had the same number of votes. Buss assumed the role of the president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered at Los Angeles.
