Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musically inclined family on the 9th of August, 1963, in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and cousin of singing star Dionne Warwick. In Newark, Whitney began singing with the church choir when she was a young child. at the age of 15, she joined her mother in backing vocals in Chaka's smash Im Every Woman from 1978. Her mother, Jermaine and Lou Rawls were some of the performers she performed with. She was also briefly a model for Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The year 1981 saw her begin singing in the New York funk group Material. The band's excellent vocals with this group that caught notice of major record labels including Arista. The first Whitney Houston album was released in 1985. It was one of the most successful album by a musician. The album released several hit singles like Saving All My Love for You How Are You Going to Know If You're a Good Person? and The Greater Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US Top Ones consecutively. The singer beat the Beatles. The album itself sold three million copies in its debut season in the US and then went on to sell 25 million worldwide winning her the first of her six Grammies. The album that followed it in 1987 Whitney that included hits Where Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built on her success but it was 1992's film The Bodyguard (1992) that sealed her place as one of the most successful artists in history. Although the film and her performance in it were not highly appreciated, the album's soundtrack and her rendition of Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You was the top of charts for albums and singles for a period of time and sold over 44 million copies all over the globe. When she gave birth to her daughter Bobbi, Brown married Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point, her documented drug use started and in 1996, she was using drugs daily.
Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American anchorwoman for news and reporting as well as political correspondent for CNN. The shows she hosts on weekends are Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash is the recipient of several awards and honours. Elle magazine once listed her in the Women in Washington Power List. Numerous young journalists admire Bash for her incredible reporting and anchoring skills. She is a George Washington University grad is a devoted mother to her one child. The single woman was married twice.
